The building was acquired by the history-interested former mayor of Mesenich, Peter Haase, with the idea to preserve the monument for the region. In May 2018, the Förderverein Alte Brauerei Senhals e.V. was founded with 4 board members to recruit members and sponsors, as ultimately the commitment of interested parties together with many funds are necessary to achieve the goal of preserving the former brewery.
Since December 2022, the sponsoring association is a non-profit organization and can therefore also issue donation receipts.
First and foremost, the building and the cellars underneath must be secured and stabilized. This also includes securing the terrain. The next milestone is to focus on making the cellars accessible. For example, the association sees the possibility of offering guided tours of the impressive vaulted cellars with beer tastings. Ultimately, the goal is to stabilize the building and the access in such a way that small events with gastronomy can be offered.
